Ingredients
Banana Preparation
- 2 ripe yet firm bananas
Coating
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Select and cut the banana: Choose ripe yet firm bananas to ensure they hold their shape during cooking. Peel the bananas and slice them into elongated rings. Alternatively, you can slice the bananas lengthwise into halves and then thinly slice horizontally as preferred.
- Coat the banana in cinnamon sugar: Place the banana slices in a mixing bowl. Add the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Toss gently until each banana slice is evenly coated with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Cook the bananas in the air fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the cinnamon sugar-coated banana slices gently in the air fryer basket in a single layer to avoid overcrowding. Air fry for approximately 5 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through at around 3 minutes using silicone tongs to ensure even caramelization. Cooking time may vary slightly based on banana ripeness.
- Serve: Once the bananas are golden and caramelized, carefully remove them from the air fryer and transfer to a serving plate. Enjoy them warm, paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, added to granola bowls, or used as a flavorful topping for jelly sandwiches or bagels.
Notes
- Use firm yet ripe bananas for the best texture and flavor.
- Adjust sugar and cinnamon amounts to taste if desired.
- Flip the slices gently to prevent breaking when air frying.
- Serve immediately for warm and crispy results.
- Can be stored in the fridge and lightly reheated in the air fryer for a crisp finish.
