Ingredients
Gnocchi
- 1 lb gnocchi (shelf-stable, refrigerated, or frozen; regular, cauliflower, or sweet potato)
Seasonings & Toppings
- 1 – 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 – 3 tbsp freshly grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (199°C) and lightly grease the basket using olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
- Season Gnocchi: In a large mixing bowl, toss the gnocchi with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and parmesan cheese until evenly coated. If using frozen gnocchi, do not thaw before cooking.
- Arrange in Basket: Transfer the seasoned gnocchi to the preheated air fryer basket, ensuring pieces are spread out in a single layer without overlapping to promote even crisping.
- Air Fry Shelf-Stable or Refrigerated Gnocchi: Cook at 390°F for 11 to 14 minutes. Shake the basket every 4 to 5 minutes during cooking to allow all sides to become golden and crispy without burning.
- Air Fry Frozen Gnocchi: Cook at 390°F for 13 to 16 minutes, shaking the basket every 4 to 5 minutes. Frozen gnocchi requires slightly longer cooking to achieve the perfect crispy golden exterior.
- Serve Immediately: Once done, serve the crispy gnocchi hot, garnished with extra parmesan and fresh parsley. Enjoy as a side dish, appetizer with marinara or pesto, or as crunchy “croutons” over salads or soups.
Notes
- Do not thaw frozen gnocchi before air frying to ensure optimal crisping.
- Shaking the basket periodically helps cook the gnocchi evenly on all sides.
- Use a light coating of olive oil to prevent sticking and enhance browning.
- Gnocchi can be served with your favorite dipping sauces for extra flavor.
- Adjust seasoning quantities to taste, especially salt and pepper.
