Crispy, golden air fryer gnocchi made effortlessly with minimal ingredients. This quick and easy recipe uses shelf-stable, refrigerated, or frozen gnocchi tossed with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and parmesan to create a deliciously crispy snack or side dish in just 15 minutes.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Gnocchi

  • 1 lb gnocchi (shelf-stable, refrigerated, or frozen; regular, cauliflower, or sweet potato)

Seasonings & Toppings

  • 1 – 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 – 3 tbsp freshly grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (199°C) and lightly grease the basket using olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Season Gnocchi: In a large mixing bowl, toss the gnocchi with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and parmesan cheese until evenly coated. If using frozen gnocchi, do not thaw before cooking.
  3. Arrange in Basket: Transfer the seasoned gnocchi to the preheated air fryer basket, ensuring pieces are spread out in a single layer without overlapping to promote even crisping.
  4. Air Fry Shelf-Stable or Refrigerated Gnocchi: Cook at 390°F for 11 to 14 minutes. Shake the basket every 4 to 5 minutes during cooking to allow all sides to become golden and crispy without burning.
  5. Air Fry Frozen Gnocchi: Cook at 390°F for 13 to 16 minutes, shaking the basket every 4 to 5 minutes. Frozen gnocchi requires slightly longer cooking to achieve the perfect crispy golden exterior.
  6. Serve Immediately: Once done, serve the crispy gnocchi hot, garnished with extra parmesan and fresh parsley. Enjoy as a side dish, appetizer with marinara or pesto, or as crunchy “croutons” over salads or soups.

Notes

  • Do not thaw frozen gnocchi before air frying to ensure optimal crisping.
  • Shaking the basket periodically helps cook the gnocchi evenly on all sides.
  • Use a light coating of olive oil to prevent sticking and enhance browning.
  • Gnocchi can be served with your favorite dipping sauces for extra flavor.
  • Adjust seasoning quantities to taste, especially salt and pepper.
