Ingredients
Slider Sliders
- 12 slider buns (Hawaiian rolls or other slider buns)
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 9 slices American cheese
- 24-30 dill pickle slices
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
Big Mac Sauce
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Topping
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish or sheet pan with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients for the Big Mac sauce (mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, sugar, yellow mustard, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder). Mix well and set aside to develop flavor.
- Cook Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, chopped onions, salt, and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink, and the onions are tender.
- Drain Beef: Remove the skillet from heat and carefully drain any excess fat to keep the sliders from being greasy.
- Assemble Bottom Buns: Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in the prepared baking dish or sheet pan. Spread a thin layer of the prepared Big Mac sauce on each bottom bun.
- Add Beef Layer: Evenly distribute the cooked beef and onion mixture over the sauce-covered bottoms.
- Add Cheese: Place slices of American cheese over the beef, aiming to cover the meat layer evenly.
- Add Pickles: Arrange dill pickle slices on top of the cheese layer, spacing them to ensure each slider gets pickles.
- Bake First Time: Bake the sliders in the oven for 8-10 minutes to melt the cheese and warm the layers.
- Add Lettuce and Sauce: Remove sliders from the oven and sprinkle shredded lettuce over the pickles. Add additional Big Mac sauce as desired on top of the lettuce.
- Add Top Buns: Place the top halves of the slider buns over the assembled layers.
- Prepare Toppings: Melt the butter in a small bowl. Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over them.
- Final Bake: Cover the assembled sliders loosely with foil and bake for an additional 3-4 minutes (or a total of 10 minutes if assembled differently) until the buns are warm and the cheese fully melted.
- Serve: Remove the foil, carefully take the sliders out of the pan, and serve warm for the best flavor and texture experience.
Notes
- You can adjust the pickles quantity based on preference; thinner slices work best for sliders.
- Ensure to drain excess fat from beef to avoid soggy slider bottoms.
- For extra crispiness, you may toast buns lightly before assembling.
- This recipe can be doubled for larger gatherings.
- Store leftover sliders covered in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat gently to retain moisture.
