Ingredients
Cheesecake Mixture
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup smooth peanut butter
- 1 cup golden brown sugar, packed
- 1 1/2 cups Cool Whip, divided
Mix-ins & Toppings
- 10 Oreo cookies, crushed
- 10 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, crushed
Crust
- 1 Oreo pie crust
Instructions
- Prepare the Cheesecake Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened cream cheese, smooth peanut butter, and packed golden brown sugar until the mixture is completely smooth and well combined.
- Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies into a Ziploc bag, seal tightly, and use a heavy bottomed pot or rolling pin to crush them into small pieces, but not finely powdered.
- Crush the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: Similarly, place the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups into another Ziploc bag and crush them lightly using the same method to maintain some texture.
- Combine Ingredients: Pour half of the crushed Oreos and half of the crushed peanut butter cups into the cream cheese mixture. Add 1/2 cup of Cool Whip and fold gently using a rubber spatula until everything is well incorporated.
- Assemble in Crust: Pour the combined mixture evenly into the Oreo pie crust, smoothing the surface carefully for an even layer.
- Add Cool Whip Topping: Spread the remaining 1 cup of Cool Whip evenly over the top of the cheesecake mixture to create a creamy topping.
- Top with Remaining Crumbles: Sprinkle the rest of the crushed Oreos and peanut butter cups over the Cool Whip layer to garnish the cheesecake with texture and flavor.
- Chill the Cheesecake: Place the cheesecake in the refrigerator and chill for at least two hours to allow it to set properly and for flavors to meld.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once chilled, slice and serve to enjoy a creamy, crunchy, indulgent Butter Cup Cheesecake.
Notes
- This is a no-bake cheesecake, so refrigeration time is essential to set the dessert properly.
- For best results, use room temperature cream cheese to ensure smooth mixing.
- You can substitute the Oreo pie crust with a homemade or graham cracker crust if preferred.
- To keep the crushed Oreos and peanut butter cups crunchy, avoid pulverizing them into powder.
- Store leftover cheesecake in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3 days.
