Ingredients
Caesar Dressing Ingredients
- ¼ cup Mayonnaise
- ¼ cup Sour Cream
- ¼ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
- 1½ teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 small Garlic Clove (grated or finely minced, or ½ teaspoon garlic powder)
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
Instructions
- Combine the base ingredients: In a bowl or jar, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and black pepper until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Emulsify the dressing: Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while continuously whisking to emulsify and create a creamy, cohesive dressing.
- Scrape the sides: Use a silicone spatula to scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl or jar to ensure all ingredients are thoroughly combined and evenly mixed.
- Adjust seasoning: Taste the dressing and add additional salt and pepper as needed. Mix well again to fully incorporate any extra seasoning.
- Chill to develop flavors: For best results, chill the dressing in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together, although it can be used immediately if necessary. Stir well before serving.
- Store properly: Transfer the dressing to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to one week to maintain freshness.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and texture.
- For a stronger garlic flavor, use fresh grated garlic instead of garlic powder.
- Allowing the dressing to chill enhances the melding of flavors but is not mandatory.
- This dressing can double as a dip for veggies or a spread for sandwiches.
- Always stir well before each use as the dressing may separate slightly over time.
- Store in an airtight container and use within a week to ensure freshness and safety.
