Ingredients
Ingredients
- 8 slices white bread (crusts removed)
- 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese (or Monterey Jack, Colby, Swiss)
- Melted butter (as needed)
Instructions
- Flatten the bread: Using a rolling pin, roll each slice of bread flat to make them easier to roll and to create a thin base for the cheese.
- Add the cheese and roll up: Place one slice of sharp cheddar cheese on each flattened bread slice. Alternatively, you can use 2-3 tablespoons of grated cheddar. Carefully roll up the bread and cheese, then secure each roll with a toothpick to hold the shape.
- Butter the rolls: Brush the outside of each roll with melted butter, or quickly roll them in the melted butter to coat all sides evenly for crispiness.
- Pan-fry the rolls: Place the rolls seam side down in a pan over medium heat. Use tongs to turn and cook each side until the bread is browned all around and the cheese inside is fully melted.
Notes
- You can substitute the cheese with any of your choice such as Monterey Jack, Colby, or Swiss for different flavors.
- Removing crusts from the bread helps in rolling and gives a uniform texture.
- Make sure to cook on medium heat to allow the cheese to melt without burning the bread.
- Serve immediately for the best warm and gooey texture.
