Ingredients
Meat and Vegetables
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (85% lean preferred)
- 1 large yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
Seasonings and Sauces
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Cheese and Bread
- 12 slider buns (soft dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls)
- 6–8 slices provolone cheese
Fats and Oils
- 4 tablespoons (56g) butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon oil (for sautéing)
Optional Toppings
- Hot sauce
- Sliced jalapeños
- Pickled peppers
- Mushrooms
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Buns: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice all slider buns horizontally, keeping top and bottom halves intact. Place the bottom halves evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish to form the base layer.
- Sauté Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden, about 5–7 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Cook Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Break it up with a spatula and cook, stirring, until browned and no longer pink inside, approximately 5–8 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- Season the Meat Mixture: Sprinkle Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper over the cooked beef and vegetables. Stir well to combine all flavors. Taste at this point and adjust seasoning as desired.
- Assemble Sliders: Spoon the seasoned beef mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the slider buns in the baking dish. Top the beef layer with overlapping slices of provolone cheese to cover it completely.
- Add Top Buns and Butter Topping: Place the top halves of the slider buns over the cheese. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with garlic powder. Brush this garlic butter generously over the tops of the buns to ensure a flavorful, golden finish.
- Bake the Sliders: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until the tops are nicely browned and the cheese is fully melted.
- Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and allow them to cool for 5 minutes. Cut along the bun lines to separate individual sliders. Serve warm, optionally with hot sauce, sliced jalapeños, pickled peppers, or mushrooms for extra flavor.
Notes
- You can substitute provolone with other mild melting cheeses like mozzarella or American cheese.
- Use lean ground beef to reduce grease; you can also drain excess fat after browning.
- Optional toppings can add a spicy or tangy twist to your sliders.
- For even cooking, keep the bun halves intact while baking to prevent them from drying out.
- These sliders can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving for convenience.
