Ingredients
Chicken
- 2 large chicken breasts (approximately 1 pound total)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Wrap & Fillings
- 4 whole wheat tortillas
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
Optional
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing (for serving)
- Olive oil spray (for brushing wraps)
- Cooking spray (for air fryer basket)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into thin strips. In a mixing bowl, combine garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken strips to the bowl and toss well to evenly coat with the seasoning blend.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat for about 3 to 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Cook the chicken: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the seasoned chicken strips in a single layer in the basket. Cook for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and thoroughly cooked.
- Assemble the wraps: Remove the cooked chicken from the air fryer. On each whole wheat tortilla, layer fresh spinach leaves, followed by a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese, and then the cooked chicken strips.
- Roll the wraps: Tightly roll each tortilla around the filling to enclose it completely. Lightly spray the outside of each wrap with olive oil spray to help crisp the exterior during the next cooking step.
- Air fry the wraps: Place the wraps seam-side down in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until the tortillas turn crispy and golden brown on the outside.
- Serve: Carefully remove the wraps from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute or two. Slice each wrap in half and serve warm with ranch dressing on the side if desired.
Notes
- Ensure chicken strips are cut evenly for uniform cooking.
- You can substitute ranch dressing with your favorite sauce or omit for a lighter option.
- Use whole wheat tortillas for added fiber and nutrients.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can cook the chicken on a stovetop skillet and crisp the wraps in a skillet as well.
- Adjust seasoning levels to taste, especially salt and pepper.
