Ingredients
Slider Sandwiches
- 1 package Hawaiian rolls (or gluten-free / keto / brioche slider buns)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
- 1½ cups whole cranberry sauce (not jellied — fresh or canned)
- 2 cups leftover turkey (cut into bite‑size pieces or shredded, or use deli turkey slices)
- 6 slices Havarti cheese
Butter Topping
- ½ cup salted butter (1 stick, melted; if using unsalted, add ¼ teaspoon kosher salt)
- ½ –1 teaspoon garlic (pressed or minced; about 1 small clove)
- ½ teaspoon dried minced onion
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Pinch kosher salt
- ½ tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat & prepare dish: Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Lightly grease a 9×13‑inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
- Slice the buns: Keep the slider rolls intact together and slice the entire package lengthwise into top and bottom halves, ensuring the bottom halves are slightly thicker to better hold the fillings.
- Spread cream cheese: Evenly spread the softened cream cheese across the surface of the bottom half of the buns while still connected.
- Add cranberry sauce: Spoon the whole cranberry sauce gently over the cream cheese, using the back of a spoon to distribute it evenly without tearing the bread.
- Layer turkey and cheese: Evenly distribute the turkey pieces over the cranberry layer, then lay the slices of Havarti cheese on top. Place the top half of the buns back on to cover all the fillings.
- Prepare the butter topping: In a pourable container, whisk together the melted butter, garlic, dried onion, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of kosher salt until well combined.
- Pour and sprinkle: Gently pour the butter-garlic mixture evenly over the top of the buns, allowing it to soak in. If desired, sprinkle poppy seeds across the top for extra flavor and texture.
- Cover & bake: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 20–30 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the filling is heated through.
- (Optional) Crisp the top: For a crispier top, remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking. Keep an eye on the sliders to prevent burning.
- Serve warm: Allow the sliders to rest for 5 minutes after baking, then slice into individual portions and serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute leftover turkey with deli turkey for convenience.
- Hawaiian rolls can be replaced with gluten-free or keto-friendly slider buns if desired.
- If you prefer less garlic flavor, reduce the garlic amount accordingly.
- Removing the foil for the last 10 minutes crisps the top but watch carefully to avoid burning.
- These sliders are best served warm but can be reheated covered in the oven.
