Ingredients
Sliders
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 12 cooked meatballs
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Butter Topping
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly butter a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and add flavor.
- Assemble the Sliders: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally and place the bottom halves in the prepared baking dish. Set one cooked meatball on each roll bottom, then spoon marinara sauce evenly over the meatballs. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce for a melty topping.
- Make the Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and grated Parmesan cheese, stirring well to blend the flavors.
- Top and Pour: Place the top halves of the rolls over the assembled meatballs and cheese. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls to infuse them with flavor and help create a golden crust.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and the meatballs to heat through.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the tops of the sliders are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
Notes
- Use freshly cooked meatballs for best flavor, but store-bought frozen meatballs can work in a pinch.
- Adjust the amount of marinara sauce and cheese based on your preference for sauciness and cheesiness.
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the marinara or butter mixture.
- These sliders are great for parties and can be kept warm in a low oven until serving.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven for best texture.
