4.2 from 15 reviews

These Melts are the easiest and cutest yogurt bites perfect for babies and toddlers. Made with simple ingredients, they are frozen yogurt drops that melt easily on the tongue, making them a great refreshing snack or treat for little ones.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 1 serving (varies depending on size of yogurt dots)

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 ounce container baby yogurt OR
  • 1/2 cup plain whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons any baby food puree

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the yogurt from sticking after freezing.
  2. Pipe the yogurt dots: Add the yogurt mixture to a zip-top bag, seal it tightly, and cut off one bottom corner. Gently squeeze out small dots of yogurt, about the size of a dime, in rows on the parchment-lined baking sheet. You can make them smaller, about the size of a pencil eraser, if desired.
  3. Freeze the yogurt bites: Place the tray in the freezer and freeze the yogurt dots for at least 2 hours or up to overnight until they are solid.
  4. Serve the melts: Remove the frozen yogurt bites from the freezer and let them sit at room temperature for 3 to 5 minutes to soften slightly so they aren’t frozen solid. This step ensures they will melt easily on the tongue and are safe and enjoyable for babies and toddlers to pick up and eat.

Notes

  • You can customize the melts by mixing any flavor of baby food puree with plain Greek yogurt to introduce different tastes.
  • Adjust the size of the yogurt drops according to your child’s ability to handle small snacks.
  • Let the melts soften slightly before serving to avoid hardness that might be difficult for babies to eat.
  • Store the melts in an airtight container in the freezer for up to a week for convenient snacking.
