This Ninja Creami Protein Ice Cream recipe offers a delicious and healthy way to enjoy a creamy chocolate-flavored frozen treat packed with protein. Combining chocolate protein powder, banana, peanut butter, and almond milk creates a smooth, nutrient-rich base, while granola or nuts add delightful crunch. Perfect as a post-workout snack or nutritious dessert, this recipe is easy to prepare using the Ninja Creami machine.

  • Total Time: 12 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Ice Cream Base

  • 1 scoop (25 grams) chocolate protein powder
  • ½ banana
  • ½ tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (plus more for mixing)

Mix-Ins & Toppings

  • 2 tablespoons granola or nuts
  • Additional almond milk, up to 2 tablespoons (for adjusting texture)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the chocolate protein powder, half a banana, peanut butter, and 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk into an empty Ninja Creami pint. Use an immersion blender or a regular blender to mix until the mixture is completely smooth and homogeneous.
  2. Freeze the Mixture: Place the pint container in the freezer and freeze for at least 8 hours, ideally 12 hours, or up to 24 hours, until the mixture is fully frozen solid.
  3. First Spin: Remove the pint from the freezer and place it onto the Ninja Creami machine. Run the Lite Ice Cream cycle once to process the frozen mixture into creamy ice cream.
  4. Add Mix-Ins: Remove the pint from the machine. Using a spoon, create a well in the center of the ice cream and add 1 tablespoon of almond milk along with 2 tablespoons of granola or nuts to add texture and crunch.
  5. Second Spin: Return the pint to the Ninja Creami and run the Mix-In cycle to evenly distribute the granola or nuts into the ice cream.
  6. Adjust Texture if Needed: If the ice cream still feels powdery or not creamy enough, add up to another 1 tablespoon of almond milk to the center well and run the Re-Spin cycle on the Ninja Creami until desired smoothness is achieved.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Once the ice cream reaches your preferred consistency, scoop it into bowls or enjoy it directly from the pint. Optionally, top with extra nuts or granola for added crunch.

Notes

  • Freezing the pint for at least 8 hours is essential to ensure the mixture solidifies properly for processing.
  • Using unsweetened almond milk keeps the sugar content low and complements the chocolate and peanut butter flavors.
  • Feel free to substitute granola or nuts with your favorite mix-ins such as chocolate chips or dried fruit.
  • The Ninja Creami machine is necessary to achieve the creamy ice cream texture.
  • You can double the recipe and make multiple pints for convenient ready-to-eat protein ice cream portions.
