Ingredients
Shrimp
- 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
Marinade
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Garnish and Serving
- Fresh parsley, finely chopped, for garnish
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp: Rinse the fresh shrimp under cold water and remove the veins to ensure optimal flavor and texture. Pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- Make the marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
- Coat the shrimp: Add the cleaned shrimp to the marinade and toss them gently to ensure each shrimp is evenly coated with the garlic butter and cheese mixture.
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to fully preheat for even cooking.
- Prepare the baking tray: Line a baking tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking and easy cleanup. Arrange the coated shrimp in a single layer on the tray.
- Bake the shrimp: Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and roast the shrimp for 10-12 minutes, or until they turn pink, curl up, and become opaque, indicating they are fully cooked.
- Garnish and serve: Remove the shrimp from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish. Garnish with finely chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges for squeezing over the top.
Notes
- For best flavor, use fresh shrimp rather than frozen.
- Do not overcook the shrimp, as they can become tough and rubbery. Keep an eye on the baking time.
- Optional red pepper flakes add a nice hint of heat but can be omitted for a milder taste.
- If you prefer, serve with a side of crusty bread or a fresh salad.
- Make sure to pat the shrimp dry before marinating to help the coating stick better.
