Ingredients
Ingredients
- ½ pound pasta of choice
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese (use Violife or a vegan version for dairy free)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Pepper to taste
- Sauce for serving
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Boil the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain well and return the pasta to the pot.
- Toss with seasonings: Add grated parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic powder, and pepper to the cooked pasta. Toss thoroughly to evenly coat all pieces.
- Prepare for air frying: Place half of the seasoned pasta evenly at the base of your air fryer basket. It’s fine if the pieces touch or overlap slightly, but avoid stacking them on top of each other to ensure even cooking.
- Air fry the pasta: Set the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) and cook the pasta chips for 10 minutes, tossing halfway through. Check frequently in the last few minutes to prevent burning, as air fryer settings can vary.
- Cool and serve: When the pasta chips turn a dark golden brown around the edges but are not burnt, remove them from the air fryer. Let them cool to allow them to crisp further. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
Notes
- For best results, use pasta shapes that have some surface texture, like penne or rigatoni, to hold the cheese and seasonings well.
- Check the pasta chips frequently during the last air frying minutes to avoid burning as air fryer models and wattages vary.
- Allow pasta chips to cool completely to maximize their crispiness before serving.
- You can experiment with different cheeses or spices to vary the flavor.
- These chips can be served with marinara, ranch, or any dip of your choice.
