Ingredients
Cheesecake Filling
- 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 oz)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large strawberries, sliced
Sandwich
- 8 slices bread (white or brioche)
Breading and Coating
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Prepare the cheesecake filling: In a mixing bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the sandwiches: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on 4 slices of bread. Top each with sliced strawberries and cover with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
- Prepare the breading station: In one shallow dish, mix together the all-purpose flour, cinnamon, and salt. In another shallow dish, combine the beaten eggs and milk.
- Coat the sandwiches: Dip each sandwich first into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating on all sides.
- Fry the sandwiches: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry each sandwich for 2–3 minutes per side until the bread turns golden brown and crispy.
- Drain and finish: Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm for best taste.
Notes
- Use brioche bread for a richer, buttery flavor.
- Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for easy spreading.
- Be careful not to overfill the sandwiches to prevent leakage during frying.
- Maintain medium heat to avoid burning the bread while ensuring the filling warms through.
- Serve immediately after frying for the best texture and flavor.
