A refreshing and easy-to-make Strawberry Jell-O Parfait featuring layers of sweet strawberry gelatin and creamy whipped topping, garnished with fresh strawberries, perfect for a light dessert or snack.

  • Total Time: 6 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Jell-O Layer

  • 3 ounce package strawberry Jell-O mix
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup ice water

Whipped Topping

  • 8 ounce tub whipped topping (Cool Whip), divided use

Garnish

  • Fresh strawberries, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Jell-O mix: Add the strawberry Jell-O mix to a heat-safe bowl. Pour in the boiling water and whisk until the jello has completely dissolved.
  2. Combine with ice water: Pour in the ice water and stir to combine until the ice cubes have melted, ensuring the gelatin mixture cools quickly.
  3. Fill serving containers: Add about 1/4 cup of the Jell-O mixture to the bottom of four 1-cup serving bowls, mason jars, or clear cups.
  4. Chill to set: Place the containers in the refrigerator for 2 hours to allow the Jell-O layer to firm up, while letting the remaining Jell-O mixture sit out at room temperature.
  5. Mix whipped topping: After the Jell-O layer sets, mix 3/4 of the whipped topping into the remaining Jell-O until smooth.
  6. Add creamy layer: Evenly divide this whipped Jell-O mixture on top of the firm Jell-O layer in each container.
  7. Final chill: Return the parfaits to the fridge for an additional 4 hours to let the creamy layer set firmly.
  8. Garnish and serve: Before serving, top each parfait with the remaining whipped topping and garnish with fresh strawberries as desired.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure the Jell-O is fully dissolved before adding ice water to avoid clumps.
  • You can substitute fresh strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or raspberries as garnish.
  • Use clear containers to showcase the beautiful layered parfaits.
  • If preferred, prepare the parfaits the day before to allow ample chilling time.
