A refreshing and vibrant Strawberry Matcha Latte combining the natural sweetness of fresh strawberries with the earthy richness of matcha, blended smoothly with creamy oat milk. Perfect for a quick energizing drink or a beautiful treat on a warm day.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup oat milk (or almond milk / very cold dairy milk)
  • 4 medium strawberries (with stems removed)
  • 2.5 tbsp white granulated sugar (or granulated cane sugar)
  • 1.5 tsp matcha (ceremonial or everyday grade recommended)
  • 4 tbsp hot water (about 176ºF / 86ºC)
  • 4-6 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Muddle Strawberries: Add the strawberries and sugar to a tall 16-oz glass. Use a muddler to crush the strawberries until they release their juices and form a purée. If you don’t have a muddler, finely chop or purée the strawberries in a blender then mix with sugar in a glass.
  2. Add Ice and Milk: Place 4 to 6 ice cubes over the strawberry purée, then pour in the cold oat milk (or your choice of milk). Set aside to keep chilled.
  3. Prepare Matcha: Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps. Add 4 tablespoons of hot water (176ºF / 86ºC), then whisk briskly in a zigzag motion using a bamboo whisk or regular whisk until frothy, about 30 seconds.
  4. Combine and Serve: Pour the frothy matcha liquid over the milk and strawberry mixture. Stir gently to combine all layers and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • To avoid clumps in your matcha, always sift powder before whisking.
  • Use cold milk to keep the drink refreshing and chilled.
  • Adjust sugar to taste or substitute with a sweetener of choice.
  • If no muddler is available, blending strawberries is an excellent alternative.
  • Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
